Founded in 1934, VTC continues to evolve as a space for spiritual growth, inspiration, and connection. As a registered charity stewarded by a volunteer Board of Directors, we have been actively expanding our capacity to share our message and offerings with the wider community. 

    About The Role

    The Admin Support Specialist provides vital organizational and administrative support to the Spiritual Director and organization/Society. This role helps ensure smooth weekly operations by coordinating communication, scheduling, and overseeing community use of space.

    We’re looking for someone who brings professionalism, attention to detail, and a calm, friendly presence to every interaction — someone who takes joy in keeping people, systems, and information flowing in harmony.

    Key Responsibilities

    Administrative Support

    • Manage email correspondence as directed by the Spiritual Director.

    • Supports the Spiritual Director with the weekly schedule of ongoing commitments.

    • Coordinate volunteers for weekly in-house events and gatherings.

    • Maintain the list of preferred speakers, facilitators, musicians, and technical support.

    • Communicate promptly with team members and volunteers regarding event updates or cancellations.

    Community Support

    • Oversee applications for rental use of the Centre, following established protocols.

    • Provide occasional facility tours for prospective renters.

    • Maintain the Google events calendar, which directly links to the Website Events page.

    • Maintain a schedule of rental income and report monthly to the Board.

    • Occasionally may be asked to conduct research for special projects or community initiatives.

    Skills and Qualifications

    • Strong administrative and organizational skills. 

    • Proven ability to manage time and priorities.

    • Excellent written communication, discretion, and integrity.

    • Able to take direction with ease and accept constructive input.

    • Calm, flexible, solution-oriented, and able to adapt to shifting priorities.

    • Self-motivating, reliable follow-through and accountability for commitments.

    • Warm, personable, and easy to work with.

    • Proficient with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office software

    • Experience with database or record-keeping systems.

    • Have occasional access to reliable transportation.

    • Prior experience in a nonprofit or community organization is an asset.

    • Alignment with the core values of the Victoria Truth Centre and/or New Thought principles.

    Contract Details

    • Status: Independent contractor

    • Hours: Approx. 10-15 hours per week

    • Rate: $25–$30 per hour (based on experience)

    • Eligibility: You must be legally permitted to work in Canada

    • Location: Victoria, BC

    • Reports to: Spiritual Director

    About The Role

    We’re seeking a Creative Services Partner to collaborate with our Spiritual Director in shaping how VTC shows up in the world — visually, digitally, and relationally. This part-time contract role calls for a creative communicator who brings both design skill and heart-centered alignment to our message.

    The Creative Services Partner will oversee and create VTC’s visual and narrative imprint across digital and physical spaces. This includes maintaining consistency with our existing brand standards, expressing our voice authentically, and creating marketing materials that embody the welcoming, uplifting essence of our Centre. You’ll work collaboratively with our Spiritual Director to design, coordinate, and deliver creative communications that inspire engagement, strengthen community bonds, and celebrate our ongoing growth.

    Key Responsibilities

    Newsletters & Communications

    • Use Mailchimp to write and send weekly email updates about upcoming events and initiatives.

    • Add relevant resources, quotes, and follow-up content to keep our community engaged.

    • Monitor and respond to replies in an open, loving and authentic way.

    Website & Online Presence

    • Use Squarespace to update website content seasonally in collaboration with the Spiritual Director.

    • Ensure that visuals and copy reflect VTC’s tone, brand standards, and current programs.

    • Coordinate with VTC’s Digital Producer regarding content on social media channels.

    Design & Collateral Creation

    • Use Canva with access to VTC’s brand assets to design event posters, monthly slides, and seasonal promotional materials.

    • Maintain alignment with our established brand standards and creative direction.

    Public Relations & Community Outreach

    • Develop positive rapport with leaders of other spiritual communities to stay connected with happenings in the wider Victoria community.

    • Partner with the Centre’s Admin Support to maintain a media contact list for quarterly press releases about VTC’s growth and community contributions.

    • Keep an updated directory of preferred local vendors and service providers.

    Team Collaboration

    • Participate in a weekly virtual check-in with the Spiritual Director to review priorities, share progress, and collaborate on creative projects.

    • Monthly reports for the Board to share accomplishment and inform about what’s next.

    Skills & Qualifications

    • Experience with Squarespace, Mailchimp, and Canva is essential.

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, and virtual tools such as Zoom.

    • Strong written communications, with impeccable grammar, and attention to details.

    • Graphic Design skills, use of color and typography, demonstrable with visual samples. 

    • Self-directed and reliable — comfortable managing your own projects and deadlines.

    • Professional integrity, follow-through, and collaborative spirit.

    • Bonus: Familiarity with New Thought principles or other heart-centered spiritual traditions.
